Hi, Welcome! If you are reading this post, chances are you're trying to learn Bengali. Maybe your significant other is Bengali, or you live in a Bengali community, or maybe you just want to learn another language (in which case Bengali might be a good choice given the fact that it is spoken by more than 250 million people in the world).
I wont lie to you. If you are an native English-speaker, learning Bengali won't be easy. Unlike cognate languages of English such as Spanish, French or German, the Bengali language is very different from English, because of the profoundly different sound patterns, vocabulary, distinct sentence structure and syntax, intricate hierarchical system of honorifics, and so on.
However fear not! It is still completely possible for you to learn Bengali! In this website I have designed a course, based on proven language-learning methods, to teach you Bengali step-by-step. Just follow through the chapters and you'll be chatting in Bengali in no time (well maybe some time).
A disclaimer here. This whole website will emphasize on teaching you how to speak Bengali, from zero to fluent. Natural, conversational, day-to-day Bengali. I will put very little stress on writing or reading Bengali. In fact, all lessons will feature romanized Bengali. I will include Bengali script too, but it is not a requirement to know the script to follow the lessons. More on that later.
